Starting My Music Magazine Research



What is a music magazine?
A music magazine is a magazine dedicated to music and the culture of music. They usually include:
  • Music News
  • Interviews 
  • Photoshoots
  • Album/Concert Reviews
What different types exist?
Many different types of music magazine exist. They range from genre to genre, some are made specifically for music news and photoshoots where-as some are made specifically for reviews and interviews.

Some of the most famous music magazines include Q magazine and Rolling Stone. 









Different music magazine genres include:
Each genre has a different purpose and audience. For example the purpose of a                                      rock magazine is to provide the latest news, tracks and photoshoots linked to rock music and it's audience will be anyone who is interested in this genre. Where as the purpose of a pop magazine is to provide the latest news, tracks and photoshoots linked to pop music and it's audience will be anyone who is                               interested in pop music.

  1. A good start, showing you are aware of the different genres that exist.
    Do take care with the term 'purpose' though - I'm not sure you necessarily mean that different genres have different purposes? Perhaps codes and conventions or modes of address might be more appropriate?
